Uitbreiding aantal kinderen in Voedingscentrum
Het nieuwe Voedingscentrum is nu ruim een jaar in gebruik. Het voldoet volledig aan de verwachtingen. Naast de dagelijkse maaltijden die er worden verzorgd, wordt het Voedingscentrum ook gebruikt om de kinderen die in het Voedingsprogramma zitten bijles te geven. Daarnaast is het leslokaal gebruikt om een aantal workshops voor volwassen te verzorgen.
De hoofdfunctie is echter het verzorgen van een voedzame maaltijd per dag. Tot voor kort gebeurde dat voor 45 kinderen. Doordat de Umutima Foundation een aantal bijzondere giften en toezeggingen heeft gekregen, is besloten het aantal kinderen in het Voedingsprogramma op te hogen naar 55. Een prachtige ontwikkeling. Hiermee krijgen 10 nieuwe kinderen, die al langere tijd op de wachtlijst stonden, nu dagelijks een maaltijd en krijgen ze de gelegenheid om (weer) naar school te gaan. Op naar een betere toekomst!
